The investor was already sued by the council and ordered to pull down this illegal overbuilding. Penalties are still too low if people dare to do such things. Amazing.

The Black Cat hotel in Warsaw is going to be pulled down as an illegal construction after 10 years of court battle. Some Warsawians who call it a monstrosity are happy but others, seeing what is planned to be built there, demand the Black Cat to be left alone. Some decisions just don't seem to make any sense at all, and this is one. I vote for the Black Cat!! (The interior flooring alone dictates the necessity of preserving the Black Cat. It's pretty unique. I'm sure they won't put anything like that in the proposed high-rise building!) Buildings like the Black Cat contribute to the richness of human lives, while the planned high-rise would make us feel like robots and contributes to sterility of life. ...Just my opinion!

Pity that such an original building will be pulled down. But the owners didn`t have the permission to build a complex house like that, it was supposed to be much smaller.

I think the same but law must be obeyed. What they are going to do with it? It depends on those private owners who had run a hotel there.
