Today horse carts are used to carry tourists, it is either a local attraction, especially in cities or a necessity, e.g., in strict nature reserves closed for motorised traffic.

Sometimes exhausted horses fall down and can`t get up, or even die.
Then animal lovers organise protests against brutality and slave work.
Sometimes scared horses run wild and injure passengers or pedestrians. The latest accident is Zakopane - a bursting balloon frightened a horse which started running down the high street, trampling a young boy, who was taken to hospital.
