The current schoolyear has one of the best timings for days off school. September, October, November, December passed quickly, fueled by the positive energy I had gained during summer time relaxation. Days off - 1 November - All Saints` Day. And 14 October - Teacher`s Day with no classes. Christmas and New Year- 11 days off. Could be better because there are years when there are 14 days off. Seldom, but it happens. January - Epiphany on 6th is a bank holiday. In mid February we had 2 weeks of winter holidays (which fall on different dates every year). Good timing for a rest after 6 weeks of work. Sometimes it is much worse and they come at the end of January - too early after Christmas/NY. Now I must survive full March (4 weeks of work are bearable - besides we get the 13th salary in March ) and Easter comes in April. Good. Sometimes it is hard because of winter depression (no sun) and general tiredness, especially when you need to work nearly full February, March and Easter comes later in April. Two full months at that time of year can be exhausting. In May there are bank holidays on 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Then final exam time for 3 days - no classes. Later Corpus Christi on Thursday and Friday after it is off too. The school year always ends on Friday around 20th June. But the week before it is usually classless too - teachers are busy preparing school documents. This year`s schedule is very good with its balance between work and time off. One has a chance to regenerate, mostly mentally. In my case it is very important.

Two full months at that time of year can be exhausting. This year Krakow province has started the winter holidays the earliest of all. They finish in late January. So, I must survive full February, March and half April till Easter. Oops, I am already worried because I got additional classes and currently am doing 34 per week. School, I mean. Plus extra ones. There is a method of survival, though. I am going to act like a cyborg, without human feelings. I already practised it in the past and it helped.

Christmas and New Year- 11 days off. Could be better because there are years when there are 14 days off. Seldom, but it happens. Like this year. Some schools have chosen to come back to work on 7th January, after Epiphany. That makes a record holiday of 16 days. Wow! I wouldn`t survive that - over two weeks without school???

I guess what has happened to the school year in the spring of 2020 makes all the above posts appear as nothing notable.
This is a time that will not be forgotten in our lifetimes...let's hope some degree of normalcy will return in the fall and continue to improve for everyone...

The summer holidays are here as usual. I was only calling attention to the differences between life as it was in 2019 and as it is in 2020. You were concerned about the length of school holidays then, and it seems to me from your posts a couple of months ago, that teaching online was a challenging adjustment!
