Today my kids are as fascinated as I used to be when I watched how shrimp chips turn from thin slices into large chips in hot oil.

That stuff looks like the ultimate in processed food...do you really eat it? What happened to eating good whole fresh real food? No offense intended...I just thought you had more sensible eating habits! Yes, I do. I virtually devour it. Reasons: - I have an opportunity to revoke nice childhood memories - I never cease to feel fascinated by the cooking process - they smell of sea food which is my staple - I eat so much fresh food that sometimes I need to take a break from it. - I need to do sth insensible from time to time. You forgot about the Imp of Perverse, discussed somehwere here? Besides, look what I eat them with:

You forgot about the Imp of Perverse, discussed somehwere here? Besides, look what I eat them with: Ok, ok, we all are entitled to have our particular innocent indulgences which bring us joy...so go ahead and enjoy yourself! In an effort to fulfill my appointed role, (or should I say my assumed role?), as monitor of your English language use...please check your vocabulary here and see if you can find your "oops!"

Haha...I actually thought you meant to write "invoke," but revive is the better word to use! I had invoke at the back of my head at first. "Revive" is definitely the better choice in this case. "Invoke" is used mostly when someone or something is being invoked, that is, called upon, appealed to, or cited...none of which apply to your memories. Your memories were being brought forth from the past, or "revived.!"
