The kind to take on a desert island or to the Moon with the option of not coming back. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_the_Barbarian_(1982_film)I watched the film Conan the Barbarian on VHS in early 1990s, with positive emotions because I had always liked Arnold Schwarzenegger in films. But the music in the film was the best I had ever heard - with incredibly beautiful melodies. Simply masterpiece by Am composer of Greek origin, Basil Poledouris. I even recorded the whole film on a standard audio cassette and then regularly listened to it in the car. The tracks are attractive on their own, here is the full score but some should be listened to while watching the movie e.g., the scene when disenchanted fans of Snake cult, having their leader killed, leave the site of gathering. starts at 4:20

Hi Pieter,
I like The Winds of War theme, too! The Winds of War and War and Remembrance are really two of my very favorite books...I often reread the two! Plus, I did watch both of them when they were on TV. I liked the TV The Winds of War better than War and Remembrance because I was upset Ali McGraw was not cast in her former role; I had gotten so attached to the characters in "Winds" that I couldn't adjust to the changes!
And, the theme from Midnight Cowboy takes me straight back to my college days when the movie first came out. I fondly remember going to see the movie with my friends from college! Sweet memories, thank you!
