Yay! Polish news in English! I'm bookmarking these sites! Thank you! Be careful, though. There is a wonderful mishmash with those sites now. thenews.pl is the most propagandistic site of the regime now, though it wasn`t such a few years ago. They prefer to keep silent about facts which are unfavourable to the regime. polandinenglish used to be very propagandistic a few months ago they have changed a little and can offer quite an impartial insight into events at times. TVN24`s news in English is the most independent of all but they provide very succinct written reports and rely on videos.

On one of them (which one I'm not sure of) some crazy thing popped up telling me my computer was going to die unless I went to a certain website...so, no, I'm not going to expose my computer to invasion by a virus...

Never say never. Simply impossible. Those are official major state or private media companies and their sites are free from viruses. I have been using them for months or years and I don`t remember when I last had a virus. But I know what could have happened. You went to a site with videos or podcasts. If your PC`s programs are out of date or even non-existent, then the site might suggest downloading or upgrading them in order to be able to play the multimedia content. That`s a typical procedure and I underwent it a few times too.

I'm sure you are giving me good advice, but as you know, I am not computer-savvy, and every time I upgrade or something, it causes me to have trouble with my computer. They start telling me to do things which I don't understand, so I've just given up doing anything. Sad, but true!

They start telling me to do things which I don't understand, so I've just given up doing anything. Sad, but true! That`s not good because after some time the computer and its systems get littered with various unneccessary things which slow it down. Cleaning from time to time is recommended. There are a lot of programs to do it. First, you might refresh Mozilla Firefox. support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems

TVN24`s news in English is the most independent of all but they provide very succinct written reports and rely on videos. See examples. Only independent TVN24 reports the teachers` protest while the other two don`t. Teachers on strike The Polish Teachers' Union has announced a countrywide protest of educators. The unionists are demanding a 1000 zloty payrise for teachers. They are also critical of the new system of work that was introduced on the 1st of September. At the meeting of the board of the Polish Teachers' Union, its leader Sławomir Broniarz announced a protest. "We support the teachers who for their own good, as well the good of their students have been taking doctors' leave of absence. We're convinced that the status quo cannot continue," said Mr Broniarz. (http://www.tvn24.pl)On the other hand, the other two deal with such silly news as polandin.com/40522273/ambassador-to-switzerland-reacts-to-dispute-with-swiss-daily which I didn`t see even on Polish news portals.
