This is going to be a big one.
Poles urged to display national flag for 6 months 30.04.2018 12:54 An official on Monday appealed to all Poles to hang the national red-and-white flag where they live for six months as the country marks 100 years since it regained its independence.
"Last week, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki issued guidelines for all state administration offices so that national flags are hung on them from May 2 to November 11 for... the centenary of Polish independence,” said Deputy Interior Minister Paweł Szefernaker.
“We would like to appeal to all Poles to also hang out red-and-white [flags] during this period," he added.
Poland marks Constitution Day on May 3 while November 11 is Independence Day, commemorating the anniversary of the restoration of Poland's sovereignty.
Poland regained independence on November 11, 1918, the day World War I ended, after 123 years of partition by Russia, Austria and Prussia.

Ceremonies and events on 100th anniversary are the same as always but more, bigger and longer. So, mass services, monument decorations, wreath and flowers, marches, parades, marathons, army show, firework displays, conferences, concerts, games, speeches, building lighting, historical costumes and gear, etc etc. Did I forget anything? )) Another thread covering previous celebrations: polandsite.proboards.com/thread/1717/11-november-poland-independence-daytvnwarszawa.tvn24.pl/informacje,news,100-rocznica-odzyskania-niepodleglosci-brtak-relacjonowalismy-obchody,278730.html
