Snails

I tried snails a few times, from various producers, and I always had a problem eating them all. Their taste is not completely disgusting but so strange that it puts me off anyway. I haven`t found out yet if this peculair taste is in meat or spiced butter added into the shell.

However, some people consider snails a delicacy and that is why they visit this organic snail farm.

The only time I have eaten snails was many years ago when I was staying at the seashore with my friend's family. It was on Cape Cod in my lovely state of Massachusetts. The ocean nearby was full of sea snails and the family gathered a bunch and cooked them. They tasted a bit like clams to me, but it was probably because they were sea snails. I liked the taste, but then again, they weren't something I would want to eat a lot of or eat frequently!

I haven't had any other kind...

Hmm, sea snails..... Weren`t they mussels? I thought snails refer to land molluscs.

Nope, not mussels, they are sea snails and live in the ocean.
