Tidying and cleaning before Christmas

Pre-Christmas time is traditionally devoted to tidying up your place. I have already cleaned the toilet and the mouse cage today. I still have to clean the windows and the bathroom, not to mention dusting my shelves, hoovering the carpet etc. Yesterday I removed all green leftovers from the rabbit`s lair and changed cats` litter boxes (but I do it regularly so it wasn`t really a Christmas chore). Kids help too but if I want to have the job done faster and more precisely, I prefer to do it on my own.

A popular topic for small talk at the time, instead of the weather (white Christmas or not) and other crap is: Have you already tidied up before Christmas? Or it is a good excuse to leave boring company because one has to get down to tidying. Funny.

Today is a busy day, as usual. Everything is going according to the annual schedule. I have just finished the windows.

Oops, the worst chore for me is tidying the pile of all kinds of papers and documents: bills, letters, receipts, warranties, notices, notifications, med tests, invoices, pay slips, invitations, my kids` stuff etc etc on the shelf over my bed. Jeanne, you know what I am talking about. I didn`t do it in 2017 and 2018 and now have to coz the top of the pile started to touch the shelf above.

I hate this boring job - I must sort that rubbish out and put away in proper binders and file holders for future reference. It has already lasted 2 hours and the pile is only half lower.
