Do you use this option?
The default setting of the forum is 15 posts per page, I think. First I increased it to 25, a month ago to 35, and a few days ago to 50.
Is 50 recent posts enough, too many or too few??

I used it when it was 10 or 15 - I forget what you had it set at originally, but now I do not use it as much. It takes a while to load if the recent posts include a lot of pictures. Also, if an over-sized image is included within the recent posts, it creates the need to scroll over to view the content of the posts in their entirety.

I try to keep them under control....

I use it like it is 50 now. It is good coz I can update all posts those I missed not beiing in the forum. It takens a time, yes, but I switch on the 50 recent post and open other site in the Internet. So I don`t loseing my time. Afterthat I come back to Polish Forum and look at 50 posts.

That`s surprising what both you and Gigi say. It is contrary to my expectations/ beliefs. I thought people consider it useful to catch up with recent posts after a longer period of absence. The more posts, the better. I don`t see a problem in opening the 50 most recent posts thread and waiting till everything loads. I don`t have to wait long. A dozen seconds on average. I am aware of your modem but I thought that Gigi has a faster connection. Mike, what about you?

I am aware of your modem but I thought that Gigi has a faster connection. Faster connection, but probably a less patient person. Today it only took 20 seconds, but the only photos that came up were Tomek's so it was much faster than usual. I have no problem with you setting the number to whatever you wish. I will adapt.

I don't know what you are talking of, I am very poor on this thing, just know what I have to get by.

The loading of 50 posts takes about 15 seconds, but I think it is so fast because they were bookmarked by my computer as cookies before, and after that loading is faster. Without that it would probably take twice as much.

one board may contain a few new posts but only the latest is visible on the screen. Yes, I have just noticed this as I have posted a couple of times now on the same board, but realised only the last post can be seen. That`s how the structure of the forum is organised. To see all the latest posts together one needs to be registered to gain the view of the menu at the bottom, with Recent Posts and Recent Threads options. What is your connection? I have 10 Mb by cable. The loading of 50 posts takes about 15 seconds, but I think it is so fast because they were bookmarked by my computer as cookies before, and after that loading is faster. I wrote that 10 years ago. Today, the loading of 50 recent posts is instant, even if they include a lot of photos, on condition they are copy-pasted from the net. When posts contain my onw pics loaded on photobucket, then loading can take a few or a dozen seconds.

Also, if an over-sized image is included within the recent posts, it creates the need to scroll over to view the content of the posts in their entirety. The problem of oversized images copied into the forum ceased to exist. Now, the forum settings automatically adjust the image size to 800x600, a standard size which doesn`t enlarge the view beyond acceptable limits. It means you can insert online images of any size, it doesn`t matter now.

view of the menu at the bottom, with Recent Posts and Recent Threads options. Yes, I really must keep scrolling down, I am missing new posts and haven't actually looked at the Recent Posts/ Threads. I look at notifications instead. I am still a newbie though and learning. Only a nursery school kid!
