I could recommend it to you but only provided you possess nerves of steel because it is very dynamic with some very hot headed members. The unofficial motto of the site is "peaceful is boring" So, it is quite common to read strong language or even abuses against members or whole groups like nations, including Polish. Words like "idiot" are considered mild abuses. Mods react but seemingly only when abuse is reported to them. Besides, saying directly: "you idiot" is considered an abuse, while saying "Idiots who think like that ..." without addressing anybody directly is just an expression of opinion which goes unpunished. Freedom of speech! The same with such expressions as "vile scum" etc etc - no consequences. Typical running battles which involve a lot of forum warriors concern LGBT, blacks, women`s rights, Trump politics, PiS politics etc. Unfortunately, these warriors prefer to abstain from culture, history or literature topics.  Generally, various maniacs, trolls and intentional flamers flock to the forum to stir emotions. Of course, they are minority and the rest are very decent guys. But the noisy minority is always more visible, as everywhere. Some guys can be so incredibly opinionated that I sometimes suspect them of being Kremlin trolls because they attack Western societies and governments on a daily basis as if they were sent there on purpose to provoke ferment. What is the truth - nobody knows, we can only have our suspicions. Unfortunately, those most conservative guys are Am and Br Poles, the so called old emigration. I get an impression they would like to put all gays, leftists, Jews, blacks, non-conservatives, refugees, tolerant guys etc in concentration camps and keep them there until they die out. That is what I was told by one of them: You are so lame, your rotten generation should die out etc. They support the so called "traditional values" and anybody who disagrees or shows a little tolerance towards discriminated groups is mercilessly attacked. What is most strange, their greatest enemies are native Brits, and there is a real warfare with nasty word battles. When annoyed, those Am Poles can be quite offensive even about native Poles: Polish pigs. Some of them praise Russia and Putin. Some of the vilest attackers claim they are Christian who practice their faith regularly. hahahaha One thing is certainly positive, though. One can learn a lot of informal language or even slang. That`s what I like and need, too, because I work on decent High English texts every day and my school English is a bit artificial. PS. Of course, I am not so innocent myself. I join in some warfares to kick rightist, fascists and nationalist asses coz, being a more centre guy, I am not keen on their narrow-mindedness, hypocrisy, intolerance and the proneness to reject everybody who disagress with their sick points of view. |

I know nothing about what is happening there. Nothing had really changed when I was last there, and I haven't been there in a couple of months. I just got tired of listening to vile people, and if I'd wanted to hear constant news about the US, racism, homophobia etc I'd have joined a forum about America, or Stormfront. I don't need to go there to receive constant abuse. you mentioned lung cancer and that made me anxious a little. I'm sure you're completely fine! Don't worry. |

Haven`t you thought of putting them on ignore? That doesn't work too well. I wouldn't see the posts they make, but I would still be able to see replies to those posts. The point of participating in a forum of interest, is that it should be enjoyable. I don't enjoy being abused and persistent offenders being allowed to remain despite zero contribution to the forum other than trolling. It is truly hilarious that it is supposed to be a forum about Poland. Now it seems I am fine but I can get lung cancer next year! I will have a few medical tests next week. I hope it's not because of anything I said! The only point I was trying to make is that respiratory diseases are likely to be higher in Kraków, being that it os one of the cities that suffers a lot from pollution, especially in winter. Doesn't mean everyone will get lung problems. Plaese try not to worry!! I am having surgery on Friday which I'm not looking forward to. Second operation within 4 months  |

No, not coz you said it, I had been planning to do it anyway, taking advantage of the winter holiday break. Let`s hope it goes well and you won`t need to have any other in the future. But still it`s some way to deal with morons. I no longer want to hear anything the Pol-Ams have to say though. Clearly, they are there to stay and the only option I feel I have left is to remove myself from the situation. Plus, I don't feel that many people there want to discuss Poland. I only have to look at the number of threads you contributed last year, yet many were more interested in slagging each other off and trolling. I'm sick of it now, which is a bit sad as I have been a member for 8 years. Oh well. życie jest brutalne..  I had been planning to do it anyway, That's alright then. Best wishes to you and be strong. Nah, there will be plenty of people there for you to wind up I posted a couple of photo riddles and some idioms after you stopped posting but no-one seemed that interested in the threads, so I didn't bother continuing. I'm not saying I'll never return but I'm tired of having people on my back there, it's draining and depressing. The last year I did some fighting back, but being there makes me angry now. I hate the way that women are spoken to like they're pieces of meat. I hate the fact that the American nut jobs ruin every thread, I'm sick of hearing about Muslims, Jews etc and I can't help it, but I can't stand any of the Americans. I have never come across such vile people in all my life. The problem that forum has is that despite there always being trolls, it used to be so busy that they weren't that noticeable. Now the normal posters are drowned out by the lunatics. I"m better off away from the place for my own sanity |

There are not many British on there. Many of the posters I liked and considered interesting are long gone. More than anything, I am bored with reading the same old repetitive shite on there. I bet if i logged on there tonight, there would be the same old crap about migrants, Jews, blacks blah blah. For me this is not interesting and posting there is a waste of my time. I am emotionally bonded with it like with this one coz I have spent a lot of time in both fora. I can`t forget some incredible brawls there, they were so amusing. Like the one when I was suspected of being another member buuhahahahaha Whenever I recall it, I ROFL. Come back, too and we`ll have fun, a little different than here. I am emotionally bonded with it l I was too but now it is just boring. However it is only mostly me on this forum so I can understand why you would want to interact with others. You may find that you will now spend more time on there than here though. It is a shame there are not more people here. Come back, too and we`ll have fun, a little different than here I don't find having a fake Christian constantly on my back in any way fun. Even when I took longer breaks, I always returned. There are a few reasons which I am not in control of, so I don`t complain. Besides, if it was really busy, I would have other problems. You are just too decent for such places. Like a true lady, you don`t visit various dives full of crazy immoral jerks. It depends. Sometimes it is very busy with Polish things, sometimes it is very slow and one can wait a few days for interesting debates. |

Yes, at one time for me it was compulsive. It keeps going ang going because admin allows the abuse to continue. The Americans for example, are only there to post abuse or endless crap about gays, migrants etc. There is no shortage of racist, homophobic lunatics to support them. If they were all banned, the place would be dead overnight and admin knows it. You are just too decent for such places. It's not that, any normal owner would have certain standards. Do you honestly think that someone should be allowed to say to me, " Eat a gob of shite and die you worthless twat " ? Or call me a sleeper or old slapper? By any normal person's standards, it is unacceptable. Why would I want to return for more of the same? Maybe my standards are too high but I wouldn't dream of talking to anyone like that. Not to mention the posters that have been contacted in real life and threatened. I kid you not. |
