It happened during the 1980s when Poland suffered from an immense economic crisis. The American government sent some charity food to Poland, including that orange cheese which I recently learnt is called government cheese.
It was awful to look at and to eat, that is why Poles called it Reagan`s Revenge.
I still remember those big blocks of cheese, it was tough and crumbled when cut.
