Not sure if I'm posting this is the right thread, but I would like to know the name of something I have eaten quite often, and seen in a few Polish homes. It's not actually a dish as such and I call them Polish eggs as I always forget to ask what they're called. The eggs are halved and the yolk scooped out. The middle bit is then filled with a cooked mushroom and onion mixture, the yolk, and mayonnaise. Any ideas?

I think they are similar jeanne, but these eggs aren't spicy at all, just tasty and very addictive!

The middle bit is then filled with a cooked mushroom and onion mixture, the yolk, and mayonnaise. Any ideas? Hmm, the first idea is to call them stuffed eggs, both in PL and Eng. I must say we never make them in our family, zero tradition of ot. We prefer pure eggs without any additives. Now I have looked at net photos and it seems there are hundreds of variants.

I'm just grateful we have a new member who has been posting enough to merit a new thread! This hasn't happened in awhile!

Will have to take some photos don`t praise the day before the sunset. Oh ye of little hope............ I hope it doesn't apply in this case! Figure I'll stick around a while jeanne

The second ones down with what looks like chives on the top, looks the most like them, It is too thick to be chive, it must be spring onion, but the taste is pretty the same. Tasty looking eggs in that picture, indeed, I must try to make sth like that against that time honoured tradition in our family. I only need to ask my kids what they like inside their eggs and then prepare a few variants.

drugie danie means the main course. Oops, I mesnt drugie śniadanie. That's my best guess anyway, we ate at about 11.30 am, and those eggs were served along with bread rolls, ham, sausage, and a homemade salad. A sort of mini buffet really.

Now I see the whole context of eating them with other ingredients. Exactly. I've never had them served on their own. Always with lots of other buffet type food that people can help themselves to.
