Sometimes I am impressed by the ingenuity of various linguistic jokes and word games created in Polish. The latest one: In Poland, to lie like a dog means tell the lies in a cheeky way, boldly, without hesitation. Dog is pies in Polish. The banner says: TV lies like PiS (not pies/dog, but PiS - a rightwing political party).  |

It has always existed but skyrocketed after PiS got power in 2015. E.g., Bizancjum suggests Byzantine wealth, splendour and opulence. Today it is PiSancjum - indecent opulence and luxury as a result of corruption in PiS ranks.     PiS is an acronym for Prawo and Sprawiedliwość. Now changed into Pycha and Szmal - Pride and Spondulicks. |

PiS is an acronym for Prawo and Sprawiedliwość This is true, but I always think of piss, slang word for urine. Not too far wide of the mark I think  The word PiSlam suggests radicalism, fanatism, disregard for women`s right and lack of tolerance made by PiS. I've heard the PiSlamic state mentioned on many occasions, though not on this forum. |

Yes, PiSs is also used, I once saw a poster: PiSs off. Saying PiSlamic we mean those radical islamic groups, but there are also decent moderate ones, we shouldn`t forget about them.   |
