Every year Dutch citizens buy for hundreds and sometimes thousands of Euro’s per person or family fire work. The problem today is that heavy and illegal firework is imported from Poland, Germany, Belgium and China. Extremely dangerous firework has the power of explosives, hand grenades and etc. Every year cars, vans and sometimes buildings and houses are set on fire or burn. People lose one eye, or get heavily wounded. The most dangerous piece of firework is the illegal Cobra.

The problem is that every New Year fire fighters, ambulance medics and police are attacked with heavy fireworks, glas bottles and stones and being kicked and beaten by drunken hoodlems, street kids, hooligans and criminals and anti-social families. Both native Dutch white trash (trailer trash) and migrant peoples. New Years eve is hard for police officers, private guards, fire fighters, and nurses and docters in our hospitals who receive heavily wounded people in their hospitals. One Dutch doctor (Specialist/internist) described what he saw as war scenes. Wounds medics treat after terrorist attacks or in civil wars and wars. I repeat the Cobra 6 and Cobra 8 are heavy explosives. They destroyed cars and vans with it. The tragedy in Arnhem shows the shadow side of the Dutch fire work and New Years eve tradition. There was a heavy fog in the Netherlands. Together with the smoke of millions of firework pieces it was extremely dense.

Some muncipalities prohibited private fireworks. The muncipalities of Apeldoorn and Leiden already prohibited the use of private fire works. In Leiden it worked. They had a rather quiet and silent New Years eve.

Some citizens, pet lovers, elderly people, specialists, doctors, medics, police officers and politicians are fed up with this mess every year and want a total prohibition of private fireworks and only central official safe firework shows like in other counttries. The medical costs and the costs of vandalism (burnt cars, vans, motorbikes, mopeds, scooters, bycicles and buildings and street furniture and play grounds for little kids) are too high. Like the Black Pete (Zwarte Piet) Sinterklaas discussion this of course divides the Dutch people.

A little train station in the Southern province of North Brabant in the town of Vught became known in New years day due to the damage that was caused to that station by local thugs who used heavy illegal firework.

Of course I am glad that I live in the Netherlands and have empathy with and witness the suffering of the Australians, the people in Eastern Ukraine (in the war zone), the people in Jakarta Indonesia who suffer from heavy floods. But this mess in my country and the suffering of this family of these father and son who died in Arnhem and the mother and sister who are struggling to survive now is heavy too.

Arnhem South looked like the Donbass region for a moment. That flat looks like a building in a war zone. I am sorry for the family of these people. They visited their grandparents and parents in that flat.

I think it's a good idea, far too many people are injured and maimed every year. Fireworks look pretty, but they're nothing more than explosives. I didn't realise NYE in The Netherlands was such a violent occasion. Not a good start to the new year.

I don't see the logic, esthetics or functionality of this. Just environmental pollution and damaging a part of the forest.

When I look at this video of the Hague I think the firework discussion will go into the direction of prohibition of fire private fire works and a collective central fire work show like in other countries. To much civilians lose their cars or other property that was burned by fire.

If these cans are full of paint, then they are off their heads, indeed as they pollute the environment quite senselessly. They are visibly bored - I wonder when was the last time they gave their lousy life a thought. They should join the Foreign Legion, then their lives would gain some more sense if they dealt with explosives there what they seem to enjoy. But no, they won`t, coz they are too wimpy for real explosions, I suppose.

However, were we more reasonable at their age? I wasn`t. hahahaha I was even worse coz I did such things next to people while they went to the forest.

In Breda a Southern Dutch North Brabant city that was liberated by Polish troops of General Stanisław Maczek (31 March 1892 – 11 December 1994) a Polish tank commander of World War II, about 20 young thugs lured the police into a trap and the police officers were attacked with heavy peaces of firework (with the strenth of hand grenades) and Molotov cocktails, they nearly could escape death.

A group of agents was deliberately lured in by young people in Breda during the New Year. When the officers arrived in the Hoge Vucht district after reporting a destruction, they were met with heavy fireworks and Molotov c...ktails.

"This is an attack on the police," spokesman Rob Luijten told Broadcast Corporation Brabant. Seven agents have reported.

The police came to the Hoge Vucht, because a group of about twenty young people were destroying a mobile security camera on a street corner. When the officers entered the street, things immediately got out of hand.

The police car was bombarded with heavy fireworks and fire bombs. "Agents got out of their car and literally had to flee. They were really scared," said the spokesperson.

According to Luijten, security images show that this is a targeted action. "You see that young people were waiting for the policemen, who came driving into the street. So it was not that the young people turned against the policemen later."

Eventually the Dutch riot police (ME) was called in. "They could barely control the situation."

None of the officers were injured. The investigation has started an investigation. No one has been arrested yet. "However, four people were arrested that night because they could not identify themselves," said the spokesperson. It remains to be seen whether they also belong to the group of wheel turners.

A fire fighter tells in a video how a group of thugs attacked his men with heavy peaces of firework and how they were hindered to do their job. Several firefighters were wounded in their face. The Amsterdam fire fighter says that 'He raised his children differenty'. The group of youths had covered their faces. It was a large group of people. A fire fighter tells how he got peaces of heavy firework in his face and that he was lucky that he survived this ordeal. They say that they can hardly do their job and that some of them could have been heavily wounded or killed by the firework that was thrown at them by these youths deliberately.

Ordinary civilians are hurt, because their cars are burned. One woman just lost her father who died and immidiately after that tragic fact her car was burned. Another woman with heavy kidney failure who depends on her car, her old car was burned and she got nothing back from the insurance. This has to stop. Spoiled, aggressive, violent, insane and stupid youth. Both native Dutch and migrant youth. Very annoying. I hope that all private fire work will be prohibited and that only collective fire work shows coordinated by the authorities and one professional organisation is allowed.


HILVERSUM - The beginning of the new decade was not equally festive for everyone. A car went up in flames on the Erasmuslaan in the Kerkelanden district. The fire brigade of Loosdrecht pulled out around a quarter to one for the fire. When the firefighters arrived on site, the vehicle was already completely on fire. The vehicle can be considered lost.

In the Hague the police protected firefighters who did their work in the evening of 31 december 2019 and the early monring of 1 januari 2020. When ambulance medics and police officers wanted to help a heavily wounded police officer who was hit by a car driven by a lunatic the crowd of thugs threw fire works at them and the police called the riot police ME in who ended the aggression and violence against the cops, medics and fire fighters.

In such moments, don`t you regret that the Netherland has kept open borders for immigrants? In another forum a member claimed that crime by migrants is fully avoidable - just ban them entirely from our country and the crime rate will drop substantially.
