Didn't they say you couldn't do that anymore because it is cruelty to the fish? I think I remember your saying that the custom will be ending because you can't buy the live fish to kill and eat at home anymore. Did you say that, or am I dreaming?

haha no, it wasn`t a dream, there is a thread about it. Yes, the latest recommendations for shops are to kill fish on the premises and customers can`t take them home alive. Most shops abide, but I read about a few which didn`t. But the fact is, people are becoming more and more aware.

Why fish in bath? Two answers required - simple and deep. 1 - It is being kept fresh for the (Christmas) meal. 2 - The water symbolizes Baptism. Which is the deep answer, Christmas or fresh? They both seem kind of simple to me...

Yes. And occupation of territory for personal needs. In Denmark and the Netherlands German tourists were notorious for beach occupations. They dug large holes inside their marked territories. Some funny guys in my Vlissingen sea port towns had their funny ways to welcome the German tourists.Vlissingen, Walcheren Peninsula, Zeeland Province, South-Western NetherlandsVlissingen, Walcheren Peninsula, Zeeland Province, South-Western NetherlandsA bunker in Zeeland, South-Western NetherlandsA Bunker in Denmark in Grenen, a long sandbar spit at Skagen Odde (the headland of Jutland), north of the town of Skagen.A Bunker in Denmark in Grenen, a long sandbar spit at Skagen Odde (the headland of Jutland), north of the town of Skagen.Jutland, DenmarkA Bunker in Denmark in Grenen, a long sandbar spit at Skagen Odde (the headland of Jutland), north of the town of Skagen.Denmark

Or did you mean putting hay under the tablecloth? No, I meant Christmas Eve Supper. Here, celebrated in a very depressing atmosphere by Polish exiles in tsarist Russian Siberia. Coz more and more people oppose it as harmful to residents` well being and new laws banning it are either already passed or planned.
