PiS can`t function without lying and manipulation. Let`s investigate these lies one by one. Lie 1 President was assassinated in the plane crash
It is the Smoleńsk lie which gave the foundation for all other lies Former Polish president Lech Kaczyński and 95 other victims of the air crash in Smolensk on April 10, 2010 were killed as a result of a human error. However, PiS has always claimed it was assassination. No evidence has been found yet to prove that claim but PiS` conspiracy theory is still much alive. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/10/poland-polarization/568324/Perhaps, like so many people who rely on conspiracy theories to make sense of random tragedies, Kaczyński simply couldn’t accept that his beloved brother had died pointlessly; perhaps he could not accept the even more difficult fact that the evidence suggested Lech and his team had pressured the pilots to land, thus causing the crash. Or perhaps, like Donald Trump, he saw how a conspiracy theory could help him attain power. The decision to put a conspiracy theory at the heart of government policy was the source of the authoritarian actions that followed.
Much as Trump used birtherism and the fabricated threat of immigrant crime to motivate his core supporters, Kaczyński has used the Smolensk tragedy to galvanize his followers, and convince them not to trust the government or the media. Sometimes he has implied that the Russian government downed the plane. At other times, he has blamed the former ruling party, now the largest opposition party, for his brother’s death: “You destroyed him, you murdered him, you are scum!” he once shouted in parliament.
None of his accusations can be proved, however. Perhaps to distance himself somewhat from the lies that needed to be told, he gave the job of promoting the conspiracy theory to one of his oldest and strangest comrades. Antoni Macierewicz is a member of Kaczyński’s generation, a longtime anti-Communist, though one with some weird friends and habits. His odd stare and his obsessions—he has said that he finds the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to be a plausible document—even led the Law and Justice Party to make an election promise in 2015: Macierewicz would definitely not be the defense minister.
But as soon as the party won, Kaczyński broke that promise and appointed Macierewicz. Immediately, Macierewicz began to institutionalize the Smolensk lie. He created a new investigation commission composed of cranks, among them an ethnomusicologist, a retired pilot, a psychologist, a Russian economist, and other people with no knowledge of air crashes. The previous official report was removed from a government website. Police entered the homes of the aviation experts who had testified during the original investigation, interrogated them, and confiscated their computers. When Macierewicz went to Washington, D.C., to meet his American counterparts at the Pentagon, the first thing he did was ask whether U.S. intelligence had any secret information on Smolensk. I’m told that the reaction was widespread concern about the minister’s mental state.
When, some weeks after the election, European institutions and human-rights groups began responding to the actions of the Law and Justice government, they focused on the undermining of the courts and public media. They didn’t focus on the institutionalization of the Smolensk conspiracy theory, which was, frankly, just too weird for outsiders to understand. And yet the decision to put a fantasy at the heart of government policy really was the source of the authoritarian actions that followed.
Although the Macierewicz commission has never produced a credible alternate explanation for the crash, the Smolensk lie laid the moral groundwork for other lies. Those who could accept this elaborate theory, with no evidence whatsoever, could accept anything. They could accept, for example, the broken promise not to put Macierewicz in the government. They could accept—even though Law and Justice is supposedly a “patriotic” and anti-Russian party—Macierewicz’s decisions to fire many of the country’s highest military commanders, to cancel weapons contracts, to promote people with odd Russian links, to raid a nato facility in Warsaw in the middle of the night. The lie also gave the foot soldiers of the far right an ideological basis for tolerating other offenses. Whatever mistakes the party might make, whatever laws it might break, at least the “truth” about Smolensk would finally be told.
The Smolensk conspiracy theory, like the Hungarian migration conspiracy theory, served another purpose: For a younger generation that no longer remembered Communism, and a society where former Communists had largely disappeared from politics, it offered a new reason to distrust the politicians, businesspeople, and intellectuals who had emerged from the struggles of the 1990s and now led the country. More to the point, it offered a means of defining a new and better elite. There was no need for competition, or for exams, or for a résumé bristling with achievements. Anyone who professes belief in the Smolensk lie is by definition a true patriot—and, incidentally, might well qualify for a government job.
The emotional appeal of a conspiracy theory is in its simplicity. It explains away complex phenomena, accounts for chance and accidents, offers the believer the satisfying sense of having special, privileged access to the truth. But—once again—separating the appeal of conspiracy from the ways it affects the careers of those who promote it is very difficult. For those who become the one-party state’s gatekeepers, for those who repeat and promote the official conspiracy theories, acceptance of these simple explanations also brings another reward: power.

PiS has always claimed it was assassination. I don't think this will ever stop. No matter what, if any, new information comes to light. I remember couple years ago the MOD ( Ministry of Defence ) were engaged by Polish authorities to look at the evidence. The MOD's Forensic Explosive's Laboratory has some of the world's best counter terrorism forensic experts, and they could find no evidence to prove it was anything but an accident. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/27/mod-experts-investigate-polish-leaders-plane-crash-blamed-russian/Kaczyński simply couldn’t accept that his beloved brother had died pointlessly This is the problem I think. A tragedy for all, but people often try to find some justification for what appears to be senseless deaths. From what I remember, it was really foggy and the plane was trying to land on the runway. Terrible conditions to start with. Kaczynski seems to be one of those people who enjoys portraying Poland as forever the martyr. It is a country which has steadily been moving forward in the last 15 years or so. With PiS at the helm however, I feel it is being dragged backwards.

Terrible conditions to start with. So PIS went to other "experts" and promised them a splendid pay if they corroborate PiS` allegations. The body of pseudo experts had worked for a few years to prove the assassination and found nothing, either, but at least they earned a lot of money. They tried to do crazy experiments, e.g., they burst sausages to show how the plane exploded. Their death was senseless coz it was caused by J. Kaczyński himself. He ordered his President brother to land in Smoleńsk at all cost to attend the Katyn Massacre ceremony. All accusations against Russians or his political opponents Kaczyński has been promoting since the crash are a result of his subconscious or even fully conscious desire to shift the blame from his person onto others.

Lie 2 PiS introduces judiciary reforms to improve the ineffective system (I intended to discuss different lies first in chronological order but this one has surfaced quite recently and I fear I might forget it later on.) Everybody knows that the judiciary needs reforms coz it is tragically inefficient. However, PiS doesn`t mind that. The true intention behind their deform is to remove independent judges and introduce PiS controlled ones. Judges who rule according to PiS` party line and private expectations of PiS members might be useful in case of certain events like lost elections or even road accidents with PiS politicians involved. Such cases have already happened. PiS Justice Minister and General Prosecutor in one person revealed it in his emotional speech last weekend: ruleoflaw.pl/we-nominated-them-did-minister-ziobro-accidentally-reveal-who-supported-the-judges-to-the-ncj/
“We nominated them”. Did Minister Ziobro accidentally reveal who supported the judges to the NCJ? “We nominated such judges who we believed were ready to work on the reforms of the judiciary,” said Zbigniew Ziobro in the Senate.
Text by Michał Wilgocki. Translated by Roman Wojtasz. The text in Polish originally appeared at Gazeta Wyborcza. Such an accidental statement led to the belief that the “apolitical” candidates for the National Council of the Judiciary are backed by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, which certain lawyers have been long suspecting. Ziobro spoke his words from the senate’s rostrum during the debate on the “muzzle act”. “If you win the elections, you will be able to choose those judges who you consider appropriate representatives of the judicial environment. This will almost certainly be Mr. Żurek, Mr. Tuleya, Mr. Łączewski – judges known for their restraint, their distance to the opposition, their impartiality,” mocked Ziobro. “This is what the democratic mechanism involves, that, as part of the functioning of the mechanisms of democracy, every environment can report such judges for whom it takes responsibility. We nominated such judges who we believed were ready to work on the reforms of the judiciary,” added Zbigniew Ziobro. The words referred to the election of judges to the National Council of the Judiciary. In March 2018, the Sejm chose 15 new judges – members of the National Council of the Judiciary with the votes of the Law and Justice and Kukiz’15 parties. The Act on the NCJ adopted earlier ended the term of office of its members to date and transferred the electoral power to parliament. Previously, it was the judges themselves who elected the judges.
To apply for a position, a judge needed to be nominated by either 25 other judges or 2,000 citizens. Despite the efforts of the judges and activists, the letters of support have not been revealed for two years. Justice Paweł Juszczyszyn from Olsztyn is fighting for their disclosure. According to lawyers and commentators, there is a suspicion that the Chancellery does not want to disclose the lists because they could reveal connections of the new judges of the NCJ with the Ministry of Justice. Ziobro saying “we nominated them” publicly for the first time suggests that these suspicions may be correct. This is precisely how Ombudsman Adam Bodnar interprets the statement, having written in Twitter: “We nominated them” – in other words this was not a group of 25 judges who nominated each of the candidates to the NCJ, but it was the Ministry of Justice that had an influence on this process. This is how I understand the minister’s statement. Important words from the point of view of the public debate.”

From 4.1 months in 2011 to 5.4 months in 2018. Thank you, PiS. natemat.pl/282559,reforma-sadownictwa-pis-postepowania-sadowe-w-polsce-sie-wydluzyly

He ordered his President brother to land in Smoleńsk at all cost to attend the Katyn Massacre ceremony. Yes, I remember reading that. He obviously can't deal with the guilt so it's easier to blame others. A terrible burden really. I'll look at the other lies later as I'm too tired now!

I'll look at the other lies later as I'm too tired now! Not too many of them yet, coz the thread has just been launched. Stay tuned. Lie 3 Poland in ruin before 2015 elections www.cidob.org/en/publications/publication_series/notes_internacionals/n1_157/poland_the_good_change “Poland is in ruins!” Anyone hearing this slogan in the summer of 2015 might have been excused for feeling somewhat surprised. The economy was booming, with GDP growth at 3.6% (up from 3.3% the year before), unemployment had fallen into single digits for the first time in years, and its Gini coefficient was declining. All of this with a budget deficit of 1.8% of GDP (Spain: 5.10%), and public debt stable at 43.3% of GDP (Spain: almost 100%). True, GDP PPP (purchasing power parity) per capita was still only $26,210 (Spain: $34,899; EU average: $35,385) – but when the country joined the EU in 2004 it was only $6,640. Furthermore, growth had been uninterrupted ever since the country’s post-communist transition ended in 1992; even the banking crisis of 2008-2009 left Poland unaffected. Projections were just as rosy: the president of the Polish Association of Economists assessed that the country would reach the EU average in 2039. What was there not to like?
Everything, apparently. The “Poland is in ruins!” slogan was introduced by the opposition Law and Justice party (PiS, in its Polish acronym) in its parliamentary elections campaign. Greatly encouraged by the unexpected victory of their candidate, Andrzej Duda, in the presidential elections held earlier that year, the right-wing populists of PiS were closing in for the kill. The incumbent, liberal Civic Platform (PO) government was a spent political force, tired out after eight years in power, and compromised by a series of embarrassing if not fatal influence-peddling scandals it had done nothing to counteract. Yet its economic record had been excellent, and PiS Greuelpropaganda was clearly off the mark. The opposition’s candidate for PM, Beata Szydło, staged a press conference in a ruined factory building in a provincial town to prove her point. Outraged, the town’s mayor summoned the media to show that his town was actually booming, and even the derelict factory was in for a revamp. To no avail: the public only had ears for the populists’ message of doom
One reason was that the economic progress made by Poland was so striking that, by now, few remembered the dismal starting point. Instead of comparing their situation now with that of 25 years ago, or with Ukraine today (the two countries started from similar points after the fall of communism), many Poles compared themselves with their western, not eastern neighbours, and expressed outrage that their average wage was still only a third of what a German makes – a stark reminder of the road yet to travel. But western Poland is actually doing better economically than the eastern part of Germany that it borders, and more Germans than Poles cross the border in search of work. The sense of outrage, however, remained and targeted the government, which was seen as being crassly ignorant of the population’s economic plight.

The true intention behind their deform is to remove independent judges and introduce PiS controlled ones. I think that became rather apparent a while ago now. It looks as if there is nothing to prevent this travesty of justice either, short of them losing the next election in 2023! I would be quite angry if I was living in Poland. All very depressing. We nominated them” – in other words this was not a group of 25 judges who nominated each of the candidates to the NCJ, but it was the Ministry of Justice that had an influence on this process. It can only get worse from here on in...... If you tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth or so it's said. Propaganda to get elected and it worked. Along with the 500 PLN juicy carrot. Plus the public thought they were getting Szydło, and like a rabbit out of a magician's hat, they got Kaczyński...... Instead of comparing their situation now with that of 25 years ago, or with Ukraine today (the two countries started from similar points after the fall of communism), many Poles compared themselves with their western, not eastern neighbours, and expressed outrage that their average wage was still only a third of what a German makes – A lot of truth in this statement I think.

Lie 4 PiS says: we reform the judiciary to remove old communist judgesThis lie was first used a few years ago when PiS started introducing the deform of judiciary system. . www.businessinsider.com/afp-polish-govt-fans-cheer-reform-against-communist-judges-2017-7?IR=T] Many of the PiS supporters believe Poland's courts are still tainted by the nation's communist past and thus applaud the reform, which is now under debate in the senate, as a way to clear out the old system.
"I've been waiting 28 years for this last bastion of the communist regime to finally fall. For all those anti-Polish, communist judges to be sacked," said PiS supporter Zygmunt Poziomka.
"We want normal courts at last. We need to be done with this caste," he said, ending his sentence with a word often used by the conservatives in power.
Such claims may seem tough to understand 28 years after the fall of communism in Poland, when the average age of a judge is 30-40 and former members of the Communist party belong to the PiS itself.
At the same time, PiS promotes guys who used to work in communist courts and were praised and rewarded for their efficiency in oppressing anti-communist opposition. notesfrompoland.com/2019/11/22/controversial-ruling-party-nominees-elected-to-polands-constitutional-tribunal/ Amid heated scenes during a late-night parliamentary session, a narrow majority of MPs have voted to elect three candidates nominated by the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party to the Constitutional Tribunal.
Two of the figures in particular, both of them PiS MPs until last month, aroused controversy: Stanisław Piotrowicz, who has been criticised for his former service as a state prosecutor during the communist era;
As Piotrowicz’s biography was presented in parliament, shouts of “Away with communism” could be heard from the opposition benches.
Once the three candidates are sworn in by President Andrzej Duda – a former politician from PiS and now an ally – they will in December begin a nine-year term among the Constitutional Tribunal’s 15 judges.
The Constitutional Tribunal is the body entrusted with assessing and resolving disputes over the constitutionality of legislation and international agreements, as well as disputes over the powers of constitutional bodies and whether the activities of political parties conform with the constitution.
Piotrowicz’s nomination has been the most contentious. He served as a state prosecutor from 1978, and joined Poland’s communist party in the same year. During the period of martial law in the early 1980s, he was involved in an indictment against an activist, Antoni Pikul, opposed to the communist regime.
Piotrowicz has recently claimed that he was actually trying to help Pikul, though Pikul himself says he was not aware of any such assistance. In 1984, Piotrowicz was awarded a Cross of Merit by the communist authorities.
Given that PiS presents itself as anti-communist, and claims that its changes to the judicial system are designed to purge the presence and influence of members of the former communist regime, the fact that the party gave Piotrowicz a leading role in implementing those reforms has led to accusations of hypocrisy. His nomination to the Constitutional Tribunal will renew such accusations.
Funny memes about Piotrowicz I was a member of the Communist Party but I didn`t enjoy it. Colleagues of Prosecutor Piotrowicz are rushing to help an oppositionist Heroic Piotrowicz is helping an elderly woman across the street After Piotrowicz`s proposal, the opposition is cleared of all charges Wait! Comrade Piotrowicz wants to help you! Piotrowicz as a leader of cursed soldiers in 1950 Wall of support for Piotrowicz Sir! Nothing`s left. Piotrowicz took everything and sent to imprisoned oppositionists.

I would be quite angry if I was living in Poland. All very depressing. If you tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth or so it's said. A lot of truth in this statement I think. Yes, many decent and intelligent people are, too when they see how PiS is ruining this country for next decades. But benefit lovers still make a majority. Yes, PiS adopted this principle and uses it everywhere, here and in the EU. People easily forget their lousy situation before 1989. Also, they are historical ignorants who don`t know that Poland has always been poorer than the West, the last time when Poles enjoyed a similar economic level was long before the industrial revolution. Since then, the West has always been much ahead. You cannot make up for several-century negligence within 30 years.

Wonderful example of PiS` methods. During a debate about additional funds for PiS regime TV, PIS members rejected the opposition`s proposition to transfer 2 billion PLN to cancer treatment. When PiS got what they wanted, the opposition cried out Disgrace. One PiS member showed them a finger. Later on she claimed she was only rubbing her eye. She complained the media and the opposition are blowing the matter and accusing her of boorishness. Unfairly, of course. Can you imagine it? And it happened one day after PiS declared establishing a special commission to fight hate in politics when their p[uppet president was booed at a public meeting. Lairs, liars! Special greetings from PiS to all people with cancer tvn24.pl/tvn24-news-in-english/polish-lawmakers-push-2-bln-zloty-compensation-for-public-media-4081896
Sejm passes amendment granting 2 bln zlotys compensation for public media. Controversial gesture by PiS MP
TVN24 | TVN24 News in English 13 lutego 2020, 22:57
The Sejm on Thursday disregarded the Senate's call to reject the amendment to the broadcasting act and the license fees act which assumes nearly 2 billion zlotys of compensation in 2020 for Polish Television (TVP) and Polish Radio. The bill will now be sent to the president in order to be signed into law. The debate on the bill culminated after Law and Justice (PiS) MP Joanna Lichocka extended her middle finger at the opposition. She later explained that the gesture wasn't what most people thought it was.
The vote count showed 232 MP were in favour of rejecting the Senate's resolution, and 220 were against. There were no abstentions.
The vote was preceded by a debate in which opposition MPs stressed the bias of information and opinion programmes in the public television. The chairman and presidential candidate of the Polish People's Party (PSL) Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the money should rather be spent on Polish oncology. Deputy Speaker of the Sejm and Civic Platform's presidential candidate also spoke against the bill. "Public media in Poland have long been gone" - she said.
Others who voiced their protest against designating 2 billion zlotys to public media included Confederation MP Grzegorz Braun, Krzysztof Paszyk (PSL-Kukiz15), as well as Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus from the Left. "This is defrauding of Polish people's money" - she said.
If passed, the bill would green-light a 1.95-billion-zloty compensation in 2020 for TVP and Polish Radio for the incurred losses.
In defense of the public television were MPs from the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, among others, Marek Suski and Joanna Lichocka. The former said the Senate's call to reject the bill was a scandal. She added that public media in their current form, including TVP, were "what people need".
The heated debate in the lower house reached climax when Joanna Lichocka extended her middle finger when returning to her seat after delivering speech. Opposition MPs expressed their outrage with Lichocka's gesture. Michał Szczerba wrote on Twitter: "Unbelievable what PiS MP is showing the opposition!".
Shortly after Lichocka responded to the shared photos: "If I wanted to show the middle finger to Civic Platform MPs, who behaved well out of order, I would have done so. I moved the finger under my eye twice, briskly, as I was upset" - she explained.
Civic Coalition MEP Magdalena Adamowicz announced in February she would prepare a report for the European Parliament on how free media should look like and how to avoid hate speech in them.
"As a member of the LIBE Committee (Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs) in the European Parliament, which deals with the rule of law and safeguarding citizen rights, I've been chosen to prepare a report for the needs of the EU Parliament, aimed to set a road map to free media, and how to free media content from hate speech, without violating the freedom of speech" - Adamowicz said.
"This is a very difficult task, as there's a fine line between freedom of speech and hate speech" - she added.
The report, said the MEP, was to be ready in a few months.

In their multiple hate campaigns against various groups who don`t support PiS, rightists regularly resort to lies. This article describes it well: www.rp.pl/publicystyka/art19305971-michal-szuldrzynski-prawo-i-sprawiedliwosc-jako-fabryka-nienawisciMichał Szułdrzyński: Law and Justice as a factory of hate The ruling party draws copiously from the textbooks of the KGB's information warfare. E-mails from Dworczyk's mailbox seem to be the best example of this.
Update: 20/01/2022 11:59 PM Publication: 19/01/2022 19:11
Critics of the ruling camp often argued that PiS, and especially the president of this party, ran the country by conflicting various social groups with each other. As proof, they cited various statements by Jarosław Kaczyński about "worse sorption", "sewers", "animalistic element", etc. Attention was also paid to the campaigns of chewing on individual social groups that fell under the skin of PiS, carried out on public television. However, these were often theses journalistic.
The first evidence that appeared was the hate scandal in the Ministry of Justice. It was about the systematic destruction of judges critical of the changes introduced by PiS. As Onet described, in order to discredit judges, personal information about them was taken from the personnel files and passed on to trolls who continued their hate campaigns on the Internet.
E-mail scandal: Teachers want to refer the matter to the prosecutor's office After publishing the correspondence on the network about hitting the head of the PNA, Sławomir Broniarz and teachers, the union announced that it would refer the case to the prosecutor's office.
But only the leakage of e-mails from Michał Dworczyk's mailbox shows that this did not apply to one ministry, but that PiS in general operates like one huge hate factory. Of course, we do not know which of the e-mails are real and which are manipulated, but even if some of them show what their senders thought, we really have sufficient evidence for this thesis. Ideas for hate campaigns appeared in the environment of Mateusz Morawiecki, in the election headquarters or the PiS press office. When, in September 2018, before the local elections, the face of which was the prime minister, Morawiecki lost the process in the election procedure, his associates prepared incriminating materials against the judge who issued the verdict and the court where the decision was made. The materials were handed over to TVP, which performed the task. Just before the local elections, Morawiecki wrote from Brussels to his associates, that the spot targeting refugees is causing a wave of criticism. At that time, a professor of sociology working for the government explains that the spot is great at mobilizing voters, and also allows to cover the topic of polexit, which is dangerous for PiS. Six months later, during the presidential campaign, an associate of the prime minister was worried that the LGBT community had been hit too hard. "Of course, I understand that we can benefit from this if there is an aggressive attack by the other side - but unfortunately the narrative for the time being is that we are aggressive and attack God the spirit of the guilty LGBT people" - he wrote. , an e-mail with a plan to attack the head of the PNA, Sławomir Broniarz, was supposed to come out from the PiS press office. that the spot is great at mobilizing voters, it also allows to cover the topic of polexit, which is dangerous for PiS. Two conclusions were drawn from this list. The first is moral. The party that heralded a Christian counter-revolution turns out to use pure hatred in its daily activities in order to drown its opponents and mobilize its supporters.
Hate is bad. You cannot achieve good goals by using foul methods. As in a populism textbook, the hate campaigns played on social anxiety. Instead of solving the problems that caused them, tension, aversion and hatred were built up even more. It really has nothing to do with Christianity.
Secondly, it is worth recalling the book by the Finnish journalist Jesska Aro entitled "Putin's trolls". She showed how the Kremlin is waging an information war against its enemies, also in the west. Aro had to flee her homeland because, as a result of the campaign of hatred of security, it could not be guaranteed by the authorities of her country. Pegasus, during which alleged evidence against opposition politicians was investigated and then prepared, is shocking and it is a pity that PiS draws so much from the KGB's manual of methods.

New revelations about an accident which involved ex PiS Prime Minister. It seems she and her security officers lied to the court about circumstances of the event. www.onet.pl/informacje/onetwiadomosci/wypadek-beaty-szydlo-jest-wniosek-o-ponowne-przesluchanie-funkcjonariuszy/pz8jsdp,79cfc278
Former bodyguard Szydło admitted that he lied about the accident. There is a request for a re-questioning of the officers The District Court in Kraków received a request for a re-hearing of all officers of the State Protection Service who testified in the case of Beata Szydło's road accident in Oświęcim, Onet found. This is the result of a loud speech by a former officer who revealed in an interview with "Gazeta Wyborcza" that he had given false testimony and that the column traveling with the then prime minister had no sound signals.

In mid-December, "Gazeta Wyborcza" published a report by a former employee of BOR (later SOP - State Protection Service), bodyguard Beata Szydło, who was involved in an accident in February 2017, when a government column collided with a Fiat Seicento in Oświęcim From the beginning, the key issue in the investigation was to determine whether the column, while driving through Oświęcim, had sound signals turned on. According to the defense attorney accused of causing the accident of Sebastian Kościelnik, it depended on whether it could be considered privileged or not Former bodyguard Szydło in the pages of "Wyborcza" admitted that that evening the column had no sound signals, and he himself lied when he testified In July 2020, the District Court in Oświęcim ruled that Sebastian Kościelnik inadvertently violated traffic rules in an accident in Oświęcim You can read more of such stories on the Onet homepage
As established by Onet, in connection with the publication of "Wyborcza", the representative of the accused Sebastian Kościelnik, attorney Władysław Pociej, sent a request for a re-examination of all officers of the State Protection Service (formerly BOR) who testified in the case of the road accident of the then Prime Minister Beata Szydło in February 2017.
- The press reports are not yet evidence. Now the former officer and his colleagues should confirm or deny it in court. [...] This could be a real breakthrough in the matter - explains Onet, attorney Pociej.
Our information shows that up to nine SOP employees could testify so far. According to the procedure, the lawyer's application, which has already been submitted to the District Court in Kraków, should be examined at the next session, i.e. on January 18.
The accident of Beata Szydło. Who destroyed the evidence in the case?
Accident of Prime Minister Szydło. How was it really?
- I realized that if I wanted to continue my work and get promoted, I had to say what the rest of us had to say - former SOP officer Piotr Piątek told "GW" in mid-December. As he emphasized, this version was given to them by the shift commander. - He ordered how to go and how to speak ... It was not straightforward. Rather: "Piotrek, you know how it was", "you know how good it will be for us", "you know how to speak" - he added.
- Every time I went to the Prime Minister's house, we didn't turn on the sirens. We drove quietly so as not to arouse a sensation - claims Piątek. According to him, it could be about image-related reasons. - So that people would not see that the authority "rides and masters". (...) I feel terrible with it, I couldn't live with it anymore - he said.
In an interview with TVN24, the retired officer also emphasized that each time he gave his testimony, he presented a false version of the events.
- I was interrogated in this case three times: once at the police station, once at the prosecutor's office and once by the court. Both times I said we were driving on sound and light signals. It wasn't easy. Yes, we knew we were telling the truth, but then we thought it was the better solution for our entire group. Remorse must have been and still are then, he betrayed.
He added that he was aware of the responsibility for making false statements.
Seicento driver: I'm shocked. This is undoubtedly a breakthrough “Deep down inside, I considered the possibility that there was some sort of deal behind it all, but I never suspected anyone would admit it publicly. Suddenly it turns out that someone who has made a secret statement under oath does not stand up and reveals the truth. I'm in shock. This can undoubtedly be a breakthrough in this matter - commented Sebastian Kościelnik in an interview with Onet.
Sebastian Kościelnik for Onet: "I believed Prime Minister Szydło that the matter would be honestly explained"
- I still think that we will not fully know all the details of this case anyway, because some of the testimonies have been classified from the very beginning. In the current situation, I believe that all this should be made public, made available to the public - he assessed.
- Many people would be able to confirm how the government column passed through Oświęcim to the prime minister's house. I also lived in Oświęcim for a long time, so I remember it very well. Usually it was done without sirens, quietly so as not to arouse a sensation. Today, the testimony of one of the most important witnesses is changed 180 degrees and confirms exactly my version of events. It is a great satisfaction and my inner relief that the truth finally comes to light after many years - admitted Kościelnik.
The accident happened in February 2017 in Oświęcim. It was then that the driver of Fiat, Sebastian Kościelnik, intended to turn from ul. Powstańców Śląskich in ul. Orzeszkowa. On his way, however, there was a column consisting of three limousines, which was carried by the then Prime Minister Szydło, which, like every weekend, went to her home in Brzeszcze.
The first of the cars passed Kościelnik, but the Fiat driver did not notice the second vehicle. And this is how the armored Audi A8, in which the prime minister was located, ran into a tree after it hit. Szydło and the Government Protection Bureau officer suffered in the accident.
Recently, the District Court in Chrzanów has overturned the decision to discontinue the investigation into the deliberate damage to the discs with camera recordings, i.e. the destruction of important evidence regarding the accident of a column of government cars with Beata Szydło. Now the prosecutor's office in Nowy Sącz will examine for the second time whether someone has intentionally destroyed the evidence collected in the investigation.
On July 9, 2020, the District Court in Oświęcim ruled that Sebastian Kościelnik inadvertently violated traffic rules in an accident that occurred in February 2017 in Oświęcim. The convict and his lawyer announced an appeal against the sentence.

Jeanne, do you know what happened in Poland last year? Rightist PiS whom I call neo-bolsheviks for historical similarities, after 8 years` rule, lost the elections and had to give up power. Now the pro-democratic coalition is cleaning the horrible swamp that PIS has created here. Poland is again a beautiful country. I am so happy that I want to dance and sing all the time. hahahahaha Beautiful non-PiS Poland:

Yes, I am aware that PiS finally had to relinquish its power, but of course, not being engaged with the forum at that time, I did not have the blow by blow description that I'm sure you would have been able to provide. I remember thinking that you would be very happy with the change of power in your beloved Poland. Unfortunately for the U.S., at least from my perspective, it looks like Donald Trump will once again be running for president, unless the Supreme Court decides otherwise. There is a movement to keep him off the ballot, claiming that he is ineligible to run for president because of his role in the "insurrection" that occurred at the US Capitol Building during the final days of his presidency. The powers-that-be are arguing over whether what occurred when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol Building was actually an insurrection or not and whether or not it was instigated by Trump... The popularity tide is also turning against Joe Biden right now, with many claiming he is too old to run for another term of the presidency. He stumbles a bit in his speech and often forgets things, and many people even in his Democratic Party think that it is time for a change. In my opinion, I don't want to see EITHER of them as President. I couldn't stand to have to listen to Trump for another four years, and inflation and other economic issues have been TERRIBLE under Biden. I say, let's wipe the slate clean and get some new blood in there... And you may remember how much I hate politics! (If there were better politicians, perhaps I wouldn't be so disgusted with politics!)
