How can you distinguish a poor or rich town by its square? Simple. Rich towns feature buildings taller than two storeys. Poor settlements have houses no higher than one storey in the market square: Compare: Skała near Krakow - a town from 1267, then impoverished by wars, occupations and fires, a poor village since 1870 when Russians deprived it of its municipal status till 1987 when they regained the town rights. Krakow - always a lot richer than Skała
