In the District of Dzierżoniów we can find a lot of different monuments. There are many stone crosses from middle Ages here. The crosses were put by criminals in the places where their crime was committed.
The crosses were made of stone and the criminal had to carve the tool (a knife, a a sward, an axe, a dagger) he used in the crime.
There were a lot of penitential crosses in our district, but unfortunately many of them were destroyed. Today we can find a dozen or so of them
