As a believer, I think it's a good thing whenever people can be reminded of the presence of God in their lives. I don't think doing these blessings infringes on the rights of non-believers, so yes, why not?

I don't think doing these blessings infringes on the rights of non-believers, so yes, why not? Yes, if local communities where new openings take place have nothing against. On the other hand, there is the concept of the separation of two entities - state and church - and let`s be honest - such blessings are unthinkable of in even quite religious countries, e.g., the USA.

Yes, but I thought we were discussing Poland...after all this is a Polish forum! I've seen photos here of priests in the Polish schools and being generally out and about, and no one seems upset about that. And you are right, it would be different in the U.S. The only type of new facility you would see a priest blessing here is one that had some connection to the Church...schools, hospitals, low-income housing, etc.

I've seen photos here of priests in the Polish schools and being generally out and about, and no one seems upset about that. Times change and people and their attitudes with them. More and more people, especially young, are tired with the current state of affairs. E.g.. why only Catholic religion is taught in schools? It should be all religions, like in Britain. Yes, I opt for such a change in education.
