Two families found shelter under the house of a policeman from Mielec
He invited two Ukrainian families who had escaped from the war to his home. Mothers with children slowly adjust to the new environment. Their husbands and fathers stayed to fight for the freedom of their country.
Arkadiusz Polak, a younger aspirant from Mielec (Subcarpathia), has been serving in the police for 10 years. Initially as a district officer, now in the prevention department of the County Police Headquarters in Mielec.
When he heard about the possibility of helping families fleeing the war in Ukraine, he and his family did not hesitate for long. Sam is the father of three children.
Two citizens of Ukraine are now staying in his home with their children, girls aged 6 and 12 and two boys aged 7 and 14. The families came from the town of Borysław in the Lviv region. They left their husbands fighting for freedom in their homeland, informs Urszula Chmura, spokeswoman for the police in Mielec.
The policeman engaged his friends to help the families. With their support, he equipped the spare rooms with furniture and the necessary equipment. - Children who are guests feel very comfortable in their new home. They have a playground at their disposal and have already made their first friendships with the policeman's neighbors - adds the press officer.
