I'm am not looking for a definitive answer, just wondering if the features of these women are suggestive of a particular nationality(-ies). The top photo is one I just received today from a newly-found cousin. |

Hmm, they look Eastern European but if they are Polish is a mystery to me.....

The woman in the top photo is the same as the girl in the bottom photo. The woman in the bottom photo is my great-grandmother, the girl is her sister. The sister was born in the U.S., parents listed as being Polish. My great-grandmother was most likely born in Poland shortly before they emigrated. I am still puzzling over the possible connection to Zelów, Poland, so I was curious to see if anyone said Polish or Czech in response to my question. |
