I am doing Family Trees about my dad's families living Waksmund Valley - Tatra Mountain. I really don't know why Poland named Vaksmunt Valley. I am curious and am posting in here. I know it is around by Krakow & concentration camps somewhere. I noticed Bonobo have been putting alot of pictures and I am grateful for him. If you or anyone can tell us about Waksmund Valley. We are doing our research of Waksmund. I am grateful for this Polish Forum and people living in Poland can help us. Thanks A Millions! Thanks! |

Well, it is now. I am doing Family Trees about my dad's families living Waksmund Valley - Tatra Mountain. I really don't know why Poland named Vaksmunt Valley. I am curious and am posting in here. Hi Deedee. The answer is very simple - the valley was named like that by German settlers into Poland somewhere between 1100 and 1300, not sure right now. In Europe generally, and in Central Europe especially there were many waves of settlers going west or east. |

My cousin went over there and took some pictures. He missed all the name of peoples who died over there. I noticed my ancestors were killed and I am curious if they are relatives to our families in Chicago, IL. I remember my mother was telling me Grandfather got sick over this. And grandmother too. That time my dad & mom didn't know too much about. They were wondering and unfortunately they passed away. Now we cousins are doing the Family Research. I am very interesting about Poland. Thansk agan. |

I don't know why my grandparents never told my dad about their Waksmund Valley. I heard it is very beautiful and they even lived on the mountains. Because everybody is asking me more informations. No my ancestors had the businesses. I know there were robbers traveling thru Waksmund Valley to Russian borders, Slovia borders, Ukranine Border and Hungary borders too. I believe my ancestors were Waxman who make all candles. I also believe my ancestors had taverns too. I am sure someone may have grocery or bakeries back then. |
