Do many people living in Poland still drink Inka coffee? Does anyone here in the USA know where I can buy it? I have a friend who wants some very bad, and I am helping him find it.

Mike Great you mentioned it. Inka coffee is a substitute of real coffee, made of roasted cereal grains, invented by Polish scientists in 1971. A roasted grain beverage is a hot beverage made from one or more cereal grains roasted and commercially processed into crystal or powder form to be reconstituted later in hot water. The product is often marketed as a caffeine-free alternative to coffee and tea. Several well-known roasted grain beverages are Nestlé Caro, Pero, INKA, and Postum (a discontinued product). Other brands can be found at health food stores and at some grocery stores. Some common ingredients include toasted barley, malted barley, rye, chicory, molasses, and beet root.Roasted grain beverages are popular in Polish (brands Inka, Anatol, Kujawianka) and East Asian cuisines, Japan, China, and Korea each having their own versions (usually roasted grains simply steeped in hot water).

Gigi,
Glad you are back, and thanks for the help, but I found another place for far less money, and ordered now.

I just found a box of Maxwell House Bogaty Smak Kawa Mielona, and think it is some kind of coffee, but all the instructions are in Polish, and as you all know, I can't read, speak, or understand Polish. Can you help me, on this, what is it, and how do you use it?

What is it, and how do I make it, is it instant coffee, or regular? Or is it something other than that?

I did find a way to buy Inka for my wife's uncle, and got him a supply, and he loves it. I myself, don't drink things like that, so I have not tried it. But he, at his old age is happy with it, and I can always order more, when he needs it.

Arlene,
You got another name, this time Mario. And I have a problem. No one buy all your name changes, Arlene, most of all, I don't.

Mike Isn`t it great when women put on so versatile masks to play innocent games with men? Most males don`t like it because they tend to pursue their g(o)als in a straight(away)forward manner. But truly intelligent men should appreciate such tricks. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
