Nice. Even sometimes too nice I think that in the first pictures it is Bydgoszcz, really beatiful city.

All of the photos here are absolutely wonderful! They give Poland at night almost a mystical quality. Great for dreamers like me!

Very nice images Bo. I like the combination of old and new elements. The third and ninth image show a exellent example the right combination of old and new architecture. Due to the lot of wonderful Timber framing houses some parts of the city look like an old Middle German town. I like those Timber framing houses where ever I see them (The Netherlands -not so much-, Germany - a lot-, Czech republic, Belgium and a lot of Polish towns and cities) So like many other Polish cities and towns this really looks like a Polish and German mix to me. That must have to do with the fact that this city lay in the North-Western Prussian influence zone of Poland. Polish to me look all the non-Timber framing houses, buildings and especially churches. The churches have that typical Polish charm I like so much. These catholic churches look different than the Dutch, Belgian and German Roman-Catholic churches I know. An example of German houses in Poland. Examples for the typical - Umgebindehaus - houses from Zgorzelec (Gaerlizt)(left) and Markowa (Markhof) (right) built in the style of ancient mountain Saxon atmosphere.

Therefore, I appreciate these artistic photos of Poland much more than I would appreciate photos of another country.

Yes, Krakow is very intellectual. Some people think it is even detrimental because too many thinkers hamper the physical development of the city. Stop all that thinking, would you please??

We found a great nightclub in Krakow in april 2004 in the Kazimierz disctict. A new wave rock disco or dance place. A Dutch student with Polish parents who spoke Polish fluently and had Polish connections directed us to that place. It was great and we danced there whole night long with the Polish visirtors. I wore my black Motörhead t-shirt back than in that club. I didn`t know or forgot that you were into heavy metal music.
