Hello to you all here !
Although I am not new to genealogy, I am new to Polish genealogy.
Recently I have been researching Michael Kozich who arrived under the name "Michal Kositz" 21 Apr.1914 on The Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm to Ellis Island from Bremen.
I am familiar with the changes in borders in Eastern Europe and am confident that Michael's Village now lies within the Country of Belarus.
Unfortunatly Michael gives two villages of birth on Different documents. One village given on his WWII Registration card is "Wasiliszki" which I have located.
The other is Bakosty ? Russia, Which was transliterated from Ancestry.com. It is also given as "Baksta",Poland on Michael Declaration of Intention.
I have tried Bakszty and also Bakshty but remain unsure if these are correct. Does any one here have another suggestion?
Any help is welcome,Thanks.
Dennis

Hi!
