No, come on, women drive no worse than men, only their style of driving differs. A few days ago a man was driving along a highway in the opposite direction for a few miles until he scored a head-on collision with another car, killing himself and his family.

Most people tend to try to get rid of such consciousness. They start putting the blame on other people, e..g, she might one day say the the bus driver could hold the steering wheel more firmly to keep the driving course of his vehicle etc. Don`t you see such blame transfer aorund you? It requires a really noble person to accept the full tragic responsibility ......

A 50 year-old man was killed, eight injured and thousands evacuated yesterday evening after simultaneous gas explosions ripped through apartments in Zielona Góra, southern Poland.
Most residents were allowed back into their homes before midnight except for 150 people living in Block 1. of the Pomerania estate, the most damaged block of flats, who are now in the care of the city authorities.
Experts are investigating the cause of the explosions after a sharp increase in gas pressure was recorded at the time of the explosions which happened in kitchens when families were preparing the evening meal. www.tvn24.pl/12690,1684474,,,takie-mamy-andrzejki-bylem-w-wannie--jak-pierdyknelo,wiadomosc.html

Extreme weather with thermometers plunging to under minus 20 degrees this week have resulted in 38 people dying from hypothermia in Poland.
The alarming statistics show that in the first three days of December an average of ten people died of the cold daily in Poland, where the northeastern town of Bialystok recorded a record minus 33 degrees below zero Tuesday night, Wednesday morning.
The most at risk are homeless and drunk people, say police. Special patrol units have been set up , searching parks, railway stations and abandoned houses on the look out for the destitute.
The elderly, the frail or disabled are also at risk when venturing out to buy food or medicine.
Poland can not expect the situation to improve in the coming days warn meteorologists. Next week is to see many sunny but chilly days, while temperatures may drop to minus 18 during the night.

Road death toll reaches 41 as snowfall ends May holiday 04.05.2011 08:01 Snow fall in May; photo PAP/Grzegorz Hawa³e Freezing weather and snow added to the hazards facing drivers returning from the May break yesterday, with 41 losing their lives and 547 injured in around 400 accidents since the long weekend began last Friday evening.
Wintry weather returned to south west Poland with driving snow leaving 100,000 homes without electricity in Lower Silesia and Opole regions with traffic grinding to a halt on many roads. Temperatures plummeted to zero degrees Celsius in some areas.
By evening, sleet and rain had fallen on central Poland. Temperatures of minus 3 hit northern Poland Sunday night, Monday morning, with frost in many places.
“We appeal as usual for caution and prudence - the situation on the roads is very difficult,” said spokeswoman at Police HQ in Warsaw, Grazyna Puchalska.
Slippery roads have been made even worse as many vehicles have already crossed over the summer tyres and are completely inappropriate for the return of winter, she said.
Power lines were down in Walbrzych, Jelenia Góra and the Wroclaw area after trees heavy with snow toppled over and cut electricity cables.
Arthur Rudkowski from the Opole emergency services said that they were working as hard as they could to restore power but bad road conditions are slowing down operations.
Police also say they arrested 2268 people for driving under the influence of alcohol over the May weekend break. (pg)------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE 2 – One miner has died after rescuers managed to evacuate 12 men who became trapped after a methane ignition caused a fire at the Krupinski mine in the Silesian town of Suszec, near Pszczyna. The 12 miners received burns while two rescuers are feared dead, as they have no shown no sign of life since attempting to save the remaining miners.
The methane flare-up happened before 20.00 CET on Thursday evening at a depth of 820 metres. 32 miners found themselves in the danger zone, with the majority being able to evacuate safely.
Katarzyna Jablonska-Bajer, spokesperson for Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa, which owns the mine, announced on Friday morning that two mine rescuers who were working in the danger zone are feared dead.
The two rescuers tried to get through to the trapped miners during the night, although they did not reach the other miners. They lost contact with the ground services, and communication with them was lost.
Twelve miners received severe burns and were transported to hospitals in the region, including the Centre for Burn Treatment (CBT) in Siemianowice Slaskie. It has not yet been reported what condition the miners are in, however.
Emergency services managed to reach the last five injured miners over four hours after the initial blast, with continued efforts to bring them up to the surface throughout the night.
One miner from the group was transported to the CBT at around 03.00 CET this morning.
Temperatures reaching around 45 degrees Celsius, as well thick smoke hampered rescue efforts. Miners had access to a ventilation shaft, however.
Meanwhile, mine supervisors have not called the fire an ‘explosion’, but a localised methane ignition. The last such fire, in which no miners were injured, occurred in mid-March at the Staszic mine in Katowice.
The last catastrophe in which 20 miners died as a result of a methane explosion happened on 18 September 2009 at the Wujek mine.---------------------------------------------------- Two people have died following a collision between a train and a heavy goods vehicle at a level crossing in Mosty near Lebork, north Poland.
Twenty five passengers suffered injuries in the crash on Thursday afternoon, when a cross-country service from Katowice to Gdynia slammed into a lorry hauling a cargo of bricks.
Four carriages and the train’s locomotive derailed as a result of the impact, with reports that the train was travelling at a speed of 110 km/h.
Fourteen fire units took part in the rescue efforts, with two air ambulances also dispatched to the scene.
Krzysztof Lancucki, spokesman for track operator PKP PLK, told the PAP news agency that “visibility was very good and the signals at the level crossing were fully operational.”
Rail traffic is expected to be resumed within a week, but not until 200 metres of new track is laid and 800 metres of overhead power cables are replaced.]

According to emergency services at the scene, the accident happened a few minutes past 06.00 CET this morning on National Route 8 in Chrzczonowice between Rawa Mazowiecka and Mszczonow, central Poland.
The passengers on the minibus were workers of the Solid protection agency, mostly between 50 and 60 years old, it is reported.
According to preliminary reports, the accident happened after the front left tire of the lorry burst, causing the goods vehicle to swerve onto oncoming traffic on the other side of the road, where it hit head on with the minibus.
Five men and three women died in the crash, including the minibus driver. The lorry driver has been taken to hospital after sustaining multiple injuries.www.thenews.pl/ccfb71be-65fa-4ecf-8c28-8e4dae562130.fileA plane doing acrobatics at the Air Show in P³ock crashed into water. 4 Poles died in an air crash in Spain A Warsaw district prosecutor has opened an investigation into the deaths of four Poles, amongst them leading architect Stefan Kurylowicz, who perished in an air disaster in northern Spain on Monday.
Two light aircraft crashed in the vicinity of Asturias airport in heavy rain and fog. A third craft managed to land, having been directed onwards by controllers to the airport in Santander.
The group was flying from the northern Spanish city of San Sebastian to Portugal. Disaster struck two thirds of the way through the journey.
Initial reports suggested, Monday, that the two doomed aircraft had collided in mid-air. However, doubts have been cast on such a scenario.
Local daily El Comercio wrote that the pilots had ignored advice from Spanish controllers against landing at Asturias airport. The newspaper holds that visibility was zero at the time.
Prosecutor Dariusz Slepokura cites that legal proceedings relate to the article of Poland’s Criminal Code concerning responsibility for the crash.
“At this stage of the proceedings, it will be necessary to apply for information from the Foreign Ministry and other state institutions, so as to confirm the reports of the press,” he said.
It will then be decided whether to continue with a full-blown inquiry into the affair.
Maciej Kujawski from the Attorney General's office has underlined that an investigation must be carried out in cooperation with Spanish authorities.
A Spanish governmental commission has already interviewed air controllers at the airport in northern Spain. A court in the nearby city of Aviles is already proceeding with a classified investigation into the disaster, with the first results due to be revealed approximately a fortnight from now.www.thenews.pl/f4f4c3af-f371-4068-bd29-3aa1bbbd9a6d.file

The six wagons had been standing on a siding by a local asphalt plant.
At about 10 pm, the wagons were set in motion, travelling two kilometres before ploughing into a the station at Zwierzyn and adjacent residential buildings.
A 55-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man were killed in their home.
An 18-year-old who happened to be in the vicinity also fell victim. She was rushed to hospital but did not survive.

Man sets fire to himself outside PM’s offices A 49-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he tried to set himself on fire outside the Prime Minister’s Chancellery in Warsaw, Friday.
Police find a suicide letter addressed to Prime Minister Tusk on a nearby park bench after a man set himself alight outside the PM Chancellery, 23.09.2011. Photo: PAP/Tomasz Gzell
Before embarking upon his attempted suicide, the man, named as Andrzej Z., attached a letter addressed to Prime Minister Donald Tusk to a nearby bench. Earlier, it was reported that the man sent copies of the letter by email to a number of media outlets.
The man set himself alight after pouring three bottles of flammable liquid over himself.
Meanwhile, media reports that the man tried to commit suicide due to dire financial problems.
Prosecutors are looking into the attempted case of self-immolation, while PM Tusk himself took time off his campaign tour to return to Warsaw to visit the man in hospital, the PM’s Chancellery has informed.
President Bronislaw Komorowski has also urged political parties not to bring up the attempted suicide in their political campaigns ahead of a ballot on 9 October.
Letter explains act of desperation
The contents of the letter, in part revealed by the tabloid Super Express, show that the man is to have lost his job in a tax office after he tried to alert authorities to wrongdoings in his workplace.
In writing to Donald Tusk, the man wrote that “you are surrounded by liars and hypocrites who have successfully ruined my life and the harmony of my family.”
The letter explains how the man did not want to be a part of an alleged cover-up operation in one of Warsaw’s district tax offices, and as such tried to publicly disclose the irregularities in 2008.
“What happened in effect was […] a dismissal from my job and the successful blocking of employment in public administration,” the man wrote, underlining that the authorities under PM Tusk had “created a system allowing for the free and unpunished breaking of the law.”
Andrzej Z. also wrote that he had brought his plight to the attention of opposition party leaders.
“[Democratic Left Alliance leader] Grzegorz Napieralski was interested for a minute, while [Law and Justice’s] Jaroslaw Kaczynski prefers to fight for the memory of this country’s dead, not its living […],” the man wrote. (jb)

Rescuers are still trying to reach passengers who got trapped in demolished carriages after two trains with 370 people on boards collided last night. 15 fatalities already, tens are seriously injured. Oh, my God. The rescue operation is flawless, according to survivors and witnesses. Besides, people had helped each other before rescuers arrived. 18 years ago a few kilometers away, an identical crash took place. Reconstruction - it was a head-on collision. m.onet.pl/_m/2eaf44994ec9bad2b25b0f07e1cd85ed,14,1.jpg The trains, travelling from Przemysl to Warsaw and Warsaw to Krakow crashed at 20.57 CET, Saturday, at the village of Szczekociny, near Zawiercie, Silesia province. President Komorowski will also be visiting hospitals where the injured have been taken. The rescue operation to free trapped passengers and recover bodies continued to 5 am this morning and involved 450 fire fighters, 100 police and 35 ambulances. It is thought 120 passengers were on board the train at the time: 56 were injuured in total, 30 seriously. Transport minister Slawomir Nowak said it was much too early to conclude what the cause of the disaster was or why the two trains collided head on, on the same track. “It's one of the worst rail crashes in recent years in our country,” he said.

Poland suffers deadly train crash near SzczekocinyTwo trains have collided in southern Poland, leaving 15 people dead and 50 hurt, local officials say. The accident occurred on Saturday evening on the Warsaw-Krakow mainline at the small town of Szczekociny, according to Polish TV. Two express trains, one of which was on the wrong track, collided head-on, a senior railway official said. Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the accident Poland's " most tragic train catastrophe... in many years." Mr Tusk arrived at the scene early on Sunday morning, with three other cabinet ministers. The two trains, comprising 10 carriages in total, were carrying an estimated 350 passengers at the time of the crash. Helicopter ambulances from Warsaw and Wroclaw helped to take the injured to hospitals. " The rescue is difficult and complicated," firefighter Jaroslaw Wojtasik told Polish television. "The damage to the wagons is huge. We have contact with victims. We are approaching very cautiously." Engineering worksThe accident occurred at 21:15 (20:15 GMT), when a train travelling north from Przemysl to Warsaw collided with a southbound train from Warsaw to Krakow. Coaches were destroyed "like a concertina", an eyewitness saidScheduled engineering works were taking place on one track at Szczekociny station at the time of the accident. The Krakow train was on the wrong track, Andrzej Pawlowski, a member of the board of the state railway company PKP, told the TV station TVN24. Three coaches are reported to be especially damaged, and the rescue operation is focusing on finding passengers there. The three coaches were " completely destroyed - like a concertina", one eyewitness told the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper. Another passenger estimated that his train was travelling about 120km/h (75 mph), when it started braking very sharply. " Then we felt a powerful impact, and we were thrown about the compartment," the passenger told TVN24.

This looks like an Inferno, a total disaster. I fear for more lives since the clash was at such a high speed and there were so many people on the trains.
Imagine that even with a low speed of like 20 km/h (12,5 mph) can cause heavy damage, deaths and wounded.

This looks like an Inferno, a total disaster. Amazingly, both drivers survived. Those engines are like tanks. They say that one of the trains was directed onto the wrong track by a newly modernised railway junction. Didn`t the driver realise he was on the wrong track?
