Dee Dee, Dear, what is all this, I don't understand, please help me. Mike I have been studying people's last name. Your last nme do not sound like Polish to me. So I found something that might surprises you and others. Your ancesters may came from Daberkow, Germany. Your ancestors settled in Poland and may have changes to Dabrowski or Dombrowski for Polish. No wonder you and I can't find our ancestors. You can look up map of Daberbow, German. Or visit Rootwebs, just read all posts. No charges. It is free. You will get ideas. I think it is very interesting and no one didn't tell you.

My family only came from Poland, and not Germany. Both sides of my family came from Poland. This is why it is hard to find anything. I have no German blood in my background. I thank you for your help, and I see, you like I have time on our hands, but please aim your search to Poland.

Your ancestors was not well informed.
I was same ways like you, I thought I was 100 per cent of Polish. I found out I may not 100 per cents. Our ancestors came from all over world and settled in Poland. You wanted to be Polish. You may not be Polish. Maybe 50 per cent of Polish & German. We all have to face who we are.
Your ancestors may settled in Poland somewhere in 1700's from other country.

I think in this case, you may be in error. We, my full family, all the way back were, and are 100% Polish. I don't want to even think we could have any German in us, and am sure we do not. Please if you can't find in Poland, no need look other places, because Poland is where we came from. Again, thanks for you help.

Some people said there aren't Polish name in Poland and you may have to look other country. Your ancestors was born in Germany and settled in Poland. Their children are born in Poland which mean. They are Polish but originally from Germany. I hope you understand. DeeDee may have shocked you. It is normal to feel like that. For example Dabrow - German last name Dabrowski - German & Polish They added ski next to. Which mean she is telling you to look up in Germany. People are tracing their roots and where their last name come from? I know you love being Polish and proud of being Polish.

Part of my last name, is of a village, by a near the same name, where several could have come from. I know we all came from Adam and Eve, but not from Germans, like she thinks. I don't know if she just wants to upset me, or is she just in major error.

Mike Hello MIke: Somewhere in 1200's or 1300's Polish people were wiped out due of being Mental Illness or violent which other countries could not communicated with Polish People. Sweden, Russian, France, German and other countries people had to kill all Polish People and There are no Polish people living there. Unless if they run aways to other countries and come back few years later. There are different nationalities living in Poland who settled and built Poland for future Poland. Poland have hard time to keep their country. It is sad and I have met lot of Polish people and they come to U.S.A. You all are busy having parties and being drunk all the time. DeeDee

There are different nationalities living in Poland who settled and built Poland for future Poland. DeeDee Hi DeeDee, your vision of past times is really interesting I must say ;D ;D ;D ;D On one hand I agree Mike might have some German roots that is why he is so attached to that country ;D ;D ;D On the other hand however, you have put a wrong name of the country in the sentence I cite, to make in accord with history. You should have written There are different nationalities living in the USA who settled and built USA for future USA. Yes, that's true. But as you see we are unbreakable and invincible ;D ;D ;D ;D

I was in same boat and I was shocked too. So I read book about Poland. I adviced all of Polish and Polish American or others to read this books. Poland. That explained to us why we all have different names which is not Polish. How did we get this name? All nationalities left their marks in Poland. Yes, Our Last Names. They are telling our future children where to look for. Yes, Poland. Some of us do not know about it. There is nothing wrong with people of Poland. They are my ancestors and relatives living there. God bless all our ancestors who passed their traditions for us. I always find this very interesting stories. DeeDee

Now people are living in U.S.A. and settles in here just like Poland. You got it right. American people aren't shames, we all wanted you too. Don't forget where you originally come from. Keep your traditional alive.

Hi Tuffa Sorry, if I said wrong sentence. DeeDee, you didn't say anything 'wrong', you just don't have enough data about history of Poland or Central Europe. Somewhere in 1200's or 1300's Polish people were wiped out due of being Mental Illness or violent which other countries could not communicated with Polish People. Sweden, Russian, France, German and other countries people had to kill all Polish People and There are no Polish people living there. Unless if they run aways to other countries and come back few years later. This part sounds really quite weird to be frank. However you are generally right that Poland have incorporated numerous ethniticities, nothing like you have decribed has ever happened. So I am afraid you gave to go through another shock again - yes there are Poles in Europe , all the time the same, good old Poles ;D ;D ;D -

Good things she is posting in here. DeeDee isn't only one, there are other more people telling me samething. If it is true. I don't mind reading this forums and I am wondering is this is true. Look at America , we had Indians people living here before us. We had to killed all Indians enemies who were killing us and our families. Now there are few Indians living in America. I know there are some really Polish people living somewhere before. I am still searching for my Grandparents who came from Bremen, Germany and settles in Waksmund Valley. All I know they have relatives in living in there. Now I am searching more. Any helps will be fine. That is why we need to have DNA. I am thinking about doing it. I don't know when.

I would not trust the DNA service, since I know someone who got back incorrect information, but that's just me. When you are Polish, you just know you are, and not anything more.
