I guess I was not being as stealthy as I thought...
Maybe I should change my login name to Inspector Clouseau???

I guess I was not being as stealthy as I thought... Almost .... If you mean the Pink Panther, I think it is our PinkDream that suits this role better because of her nick.... I don`t know what directed you while choosing this nick - gigi, but I associate it with Giga, a gorgeous female student from one of my favourite books for teenagers. She is beautiful and tempting, but void and haughty too. ;D

If you mean the Pink Panther, I think it is our PinkDream that suits this role better because of her nick.... Funny that I considered Pink Panther as a nickname for here... Could be that I am quite inquisitive, who knows? Thank you franciszek and locopolaco for your welcomes. gigi - welcome. I think this is a nice place, certainly welcoming and friendly from what I have seen so far.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I think I have my avatar picked out (it's not as cute as franciszek's) but I am having a heck of a time loading it into my profile. The image is in photobucket but my browser is Firefox so maybe that's the problem. I did some troubleshooting and my browser settings seem to be okay, but I must be missing something. Any advice?
And no, Bonobo, I do NOT want that lovely cat avatar you offered PinkDreams...
Thanks, gigi

Hmm, how about your selected picture being too big for avatar requirements? Did you notice the limit on the size of it? 100 by 100 or something? Pity. But I promise everyone, when somebody choose this blasitng cat avatar, I will be so rejoiced that I will drink a bottle of champagne.... or wine.

Not exactly sure what the problem was. It wasn't the size. I had already noted the size limit and was within it (see, I play by the rules sometimes). Anyway, I figured it out so the cat avatar is still up for grabs. Hopefully you aren't going to wait for someone to choose it before you have some of that champagne or wine or you're gonna get REAL thirsty...

Hi all, hi Bobobo Pawian I am a middle aged guy from Poland. I'm glad I found this forum. I haven't read it all yet, I wish I will with time. From what I read I can say we've all been extremely lucky. We found a pearl to lead us through the complicated labyrinth, usually called 'Polish culture". Poles living in Poland included. Your (stunned) tufta

Your (stunned) tufta Hello Tufta. It`s nice that a guy from Poland, an ethnic Pole , visited us. I hope you will enjoy our company, and won`t mind when we display some strange views concerning Polish stuff. But I have one request - don`t forget your old forum where you came from. They would be certainly very depressed to see you leaving. Don`t mind petty bickering, it happens in every forum, also here. As an ethnic Pole you are still of great value to them. PS. Guys, if you are puzzled by what I have just written, here is the address of another Polish forum which deals more or less with the same subjects as we do. It is also very informative on Polish issues: jagahost.proboards79.com/index.cgi?

I will see what can be done concerning your request. I may be of some value to the silent majority but not to the forum managers if things look as you said. And if they didn't appreciate Y O U, they will appreciate no one. Besides, I'll stay only if I will feel good there. I'm just clearing it up - should I feel good there or should I not.

Hi all !!! My name (neim:P) is Monika I'm a native Pole from Tarnów (it's not very far from Kraków) and I'd love to talk to u guys ;] I'm doing a degree in English that's why I'm so eager to talk to u but that's not the only reason. Don't u think it's fun to meet people from other countries? If you have any questions concerning Poland, Poles, our language etc don't hesitate to ask me Unfortunately, now at Polish universities there is examination time (so called "sesja") so I can't promise I'll answer immediately btw keep ur fingers crossed for Polish students Bobobo --> heh nice try to imitate Polish students' mistakes:P but I don't think they would make those kinds of mistakes but it's very funny <bravo>

Yes, it is fun and the most fascinating thing for me is finding little differences where we don`t expect them, e.g., I have just learnt the Polish victory sign is also a peace sign in the US.
