Is it true that Poland is still getting snow, and is getting more each day, and is still cold, around 30-to-35? I know we have members in a few places in Poland, please let me know. Mike Some parts of Poland get it. Yesterday there was mild snowfall in my area.

It has been warm here, the past few days, around 55-60 and nice. I have so far, raked up over ten large bags of leafs, and have at least that much more to go, if not more. This year, is the first year, I have help from my wife. How is the weather by you, now?

The weather is just terrible. Terrible how? Cold? Snowy? Our snow covering has just about disappeared except where it was piled deep by the plows or in some areas of the woods. BUT, it is still cold! The past two mornings have been around 20 degrees F with a frigid wind chill. It's so deceiving because you look out the window and see the sun shining brightly and think, "Spring is here!", then you go out and find, alas, it is not true even though the calendar proclaims it...

Jeanne, that day when I wrote it it was terrible in all possible meanings. Freezing rain mixed with snow falling, windy, grey and dark. Hope I didn't miss anything It would have been terrible for mid December and at the end of March when the first tulips sprouted already it was (still is in fact) just unbearable....

We will not see those sprouting here for many weeks to come, so last week I put this background on my computer: wallpapers.jurko.net/pic/52/Not nearly as good as the real thing, but it cheers me up nevertheless!

It has been nice here, but say we could get a bit of snow on Sunday, but I don't think so. If we get it, it won't stay on the ground long, if at all. Looking for great weather, again, next week. Like it was, around 70 plus. This is life in Northwest Indiana, I guess.

That does indeed sound terrible...and discouraging at the end of March. Our weather is slowly improving; winter's icy grip has now ended. The past few evenings I have heard the "spring peepers", tiny frogs in wet areas that are truly a sign of spring in our area. They are music to my ears. ;D

I was looking back at the thread about storks and some postings from last autumn. I noticed that Bonobo mentioned that last summer the storks left in August rather than September implying that perhaps it would be a bad winter in Poland. I answered that where I live, hummingbirds had also left early indicating that perhaps my area (Northeast U.S.) may also have a bad winter. I know that definitely proved to be true here, but was wondering if in general the winter in Poland was a hard one, or more of a global-warming type as in the recent past?

Winter this year was long and snowy. It wasn`t dead freezing, no, but cold enough to burn large quantities of fuel in car and at home. The last snow fell as late as mid March. But now the climate is warm and sunny, we go for walks and outings often. In the mountains there was a little at the end of March. Last year I didn`t even think of looking for my snow boots. And we never went sledging with kids.

So, it's safe to say that the storks were right, as well as the hummingbirds?

But is this very unusual there? We also have this go on from time to time, all over. Last year, we had this in a area near me.

There are tornadoes but rare, smaller and not so devastating as in America. Currently it is so hot in Krakow that I leave our turtle and tortoise on the balcony in their summer house and pond for the night (normally, I bring them back home in the evening).

We have much rain, and cold weather here, looks like summer is long gone. They say it could get warm again next week, but we will see. It is all most to cold for me to smoke my cigars, and read my newspaper on my deck, but I just put something on and do it any way. I just getting close to the time, when I will need bring in my orange tree, container grown, in from the deck, to my four seasons room. I have several warm weather plants on my deck, that come in when it gets cold. Now tell us all, how is the weather where you are?

Again, I want to thank Al Gore for his global warming, where is it, not in my city or state.
That goes to show, he did not, or does not know of what he talks, but will do anything for money.

I think Al Gore is very busy man and can't answer all the calls from everybody. Big shots don't bother with us any more. It is so beautiful in McHenry County, IL. Fall is here already. All colors leaves are falling down. It is so romantic with Halloween decorations outside in yards. Pumpkins too. I am being Witch for Halloween. Now I am looking for romantic Christmas Holiday too. Cheer Up Mike.

Leaves are blooming and grasses and tress Summer - June 22- Sept. 22. Hot, sweating & humids Fall - Sept. 23 - March 23. Leaves are falling down. Cooler weathers. Some time weather isn't like they used to be. In Chicago, IL. we have 4 seasons in one day. It was strange day and fun too. Unbelievable. How is in Poland? Do you have 4 Seasons?

Oh, I forgot to mention this. Chicago is called Windy City. It is very windy and our roofs get blown away all the time. We have to look up in sky. We used to looked down for money. Now these day, we all are looking up in sky and at tallest buildings. Be careful when visiting in Chicago, IL. As for Wisconsin and Minnesota, their weather are bad too. Lot of snow too and very slippery roads. Villages are running out of salts. What about Poland? DO you have enough salt?
